I have been in love with music since I was a young kid listening to my grandmother spin vinyl records of AL Green and my mom playing Anita Baker, Mary J. Blige and Rachelle Ferrell. Throughout the past decade, my relationship with music has been a rather rocky one. I have found myself falling out of love with music because it no longer tells me it loves me back. In response, all I've been getting is, "Make em say Ugh," ... "Back that @#$ Up," ... ,"Marco Polo," and "Swag Surf."But man do I remember the days when I would sneak over to surprise her after a long day of school, she would creep around actually scared thinking there was a, "Stranger In My House." Then, I would come from behind the door to reveal myself and she would smile and say, "Nobody's Supposed to be Here." Then, we would laugh and just cuddle in front of the TV screen because she genuinely was a ,"Friend of Mine."
I've been wondering if love still existed. After spending another day weeping and reminiscing on Pandora and youtube, I discovered that 3 queens have come for Love's return. They simply call it, "The Queen Project."
Tamia, Deborah Cox and Kelly Price share how the project came about.
I can't wait till she comes back. Maybe we will get back together and she will sing, "He Proposed to Me," after our wedding reception.
